While it’s easy to get hung up on the latest trend or the season’s it fashion, style really isn’t something that can be bought. Sure, you can buy all the latest trends and look stylish but the reason why some become icons and inspirations is because of how they put their whole look together. At the end of the day, it’s about how you style it — and styling, friends, is free.

By now I think it’s safe to say that versatility is probably the key component to become a true fashionista. I mean why waste money on new clothes when you can create a thousand different looks with what you already have in your closet?

Having a small selection of things you can wear in lots of ways is much more useful than a giant wardrobe of unique stand alone items that don’t lend themselves to different occasions or looks. Plus, when you love a certain fashion piece you want to wear it as much as you can, right?

Today’s post is all about this simple beautiful Ntoma dress by Symdey Couture, looks familiar? That’s because I’ve worn it before here but now I want to show you how it can be switched up in a different way.

I love finding how to use pieces in an unconventional way. With that in mind, I folded the dress at the mid-section and used a wide belt to cinch my waist. When your look is simple and you have an opportunity to define your waist, the best accessory is to add a belt! I love this wide leather, minimally designed one and it pairs perfectly with the beautifully fluid designs that is on this dress.

I then paired it with a white jeans and a two toned heels for a chic look. I could also wear it with a pair of sneakers but because I had worn it previously with the dress itself, it wasn’t an option anymore. Now see how easy it is to create a new look.
