Happy Friday everyone

I know it’s not March 8th yet but Mest Ghana in collaboration with Vodafone Ghana, Google Ghana and Nokia Ghana (lol lots of Ghana) decided to celebrate it today. Probably because of Ghana’s upcoming Independence day celebration and the holiday that comes after it.

If I took nothing out of this meeting at all, I know for sure I learned to be myself and the word is AUTHENTICITY. Funny how you think you know everything and then someone says something that hits you like a storm.

I have always been different and for a long time that has been a problem, I have had to undervalue myself because i’m not what people expect me to be- for a example I like to speak my local language but i’m always called out for it; I like to dress how I want and I get judged for it all the time. People don’t believe my stance on Christianity because I like fashion. I know i’m not the only fashionista facing this issue, I recently had this conversation with a fellow blogger Pauline kay of the style concession (please check her out) and she affirmed this. I don’t know where the stereotype of dressing like a nun if you serving God came from? The thing is, I love fashion, it who i’m- if you’ve read my about me you will know there’s nothing I can do about it. But my loving fashion doesn’t make my love for God any lesser because without him I wouldn’t wake up to wear the clothes I love.

One thing i’m certain of is that i’m different, i’m not a rule abiding person and If the world focuses on that instead of my awesomeness, then its it loss!

End of rant lol

The whole point of this post-rant (ha-ha) is to know who you truly are and learn to accept it. One of the panelist said something that really impacted me and I quote “you are unique and there’s no one like you, you are one of a kind…even twins believe they are unique”.

I hope this post inspires you-will be sharing bits and pieces of my lessons learned in later post .

Please don’t forget to make your pledge in the widget titled #pledgeforparity on your bottom right.

PS: So what challenges are you facing for been a fashionista and a christian and also been different? Please comment/email me to let me know. I’m genuinely interested.
