Hello family, my first post yaaaay, go me go me go me. I have actually spent days thinking of what to write in my first post, I have also visited so many fashion blogs that my head literally spins from all the information I gathered.
I will “try” (and the keyword is try) not to say too much about myself since I wrote extensively in the about me Here section of this site. This post is a make or break moment for me, its a moment that will define a lot of things to me and to quote my favorite speaker and researcher Brene Brown, which says…
“Owning our story can be hard but not nearly as difficult as spending our lives running from it. Embracing our vulnerabilities is risky but not nearly as dangerous as giving up on love and belonging and joy—the experiences that make us the most vulnerable. Only when we are brave enough to explore the darkness will we discover the infinite power of our light.”
I had the idea to write a blog a few years back and I have been procrastinating because I didn’t feel good enough, didn’t have expensive designer clothes and shoes to show; hell it will be nearly impossible to say where I bought some(ok most) of my clothes because I honestly bought them on the streets. Inferiority complex and impostor syndrome has kept me from my dreams for so long, but today; today I choose to make a stance and conquer my fears.
I therefore present to you….(‘drumroll’) MY FIRST POST!!!
There’s this thing about lace that always intrigues me- it fits every occasion and every style you have in mind plus it never goes out of style!. I wore this gray cotton body-con pencil skirt and this white sleeveless lace peplum top to church. The funny part of today was that I forgot to iron my outfit the day before and when I woke up the lights were off (my Ghanaian readers will know what I am talking about #dumsor). I therefore had to call on my improvisation skills to find something to wear because I really wanted to go to church. And now; Say hello, to this masterpiece…
Another challenge was what color will brighten up the look because the white and gray looked boring. So Bae (thanks Honey) chose this red shoe and purse for me .
I went with this gray earrings as the only accessory because I didn’t want to go overboard and a subtle make-up to complete my look.
So how did I do? Please Share, Subscribe and comment to lemme know what you think.
Thanks a bunch for reading family.
love you bunch!
